Every year, the Nuit des Musées (Night of the Museums ) invites us to take advantage of some great cultural offers. The event, which takes place all over Europe, is an invitation to take over participating museums, castles, monuments and institutions. Each year, we unveil a program of exceptional nocturnes, free visits and unusual events designed to help us (re)discover our heritage in a whole new way. Paris and the surrounding region won't be missing out on the festivities: the whole of theÎle-de-France region will be taking part in this not-to-be-missed cultural event, which this year takes place on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
It's a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the beautiful heritage of Seine-et-Marne. It's worth noting thatthis department of the Paris region is brimming with cultural treasures and nuggets that are well worth a visit. This year's event sees the participation of the Mairie-musée de Bourron-Marlotte, not far from the Fontainebleau forest. The town has a rich history, and was home to some of the leading painters of the 19th century, including Sisley, Renoir, Monet, Cézanne, Pissarro and Bazille.
On the occasion of the Nuit des Musées 2024, the Mairie-Musée de Bourron-Marlotte is offering a creative workshop on the theme of "Painting the forest", echoing the temporary exhibition presented at night from 6pm to 10pm.
On Saturday, May 18, 2024, during the European Night of Museums, come and (re)discover the Mairie-Musée and its works by night between 6pm and 10pm.
This year, echoing the exhibitions devoted to Théodore Rousseau at the Petit-Palais and Barbizon, the European Night of Museums will honor our beautiful forest: rediscover the landscapes that have made Bourron-Marlotte and its surroundings a vacation spot for artists!
Members of the Association des Amis de la Mairie-Musée will be on hand to comment on the works.
