As part of the Nuit des Musées (Museum Night), the Mus'X - musée de l'école Polytechnique, in Palaiseau, opens its doors free of charge on Saturday, May 17, 2025. An opportunity to discover the École Polytechnique's scientific and historical treasures through antique instruments, uniforms, archives and audiovisual content.

Museum Night 2025 takes place this May 17! For this major European cultural event, young and old alike are invited to discover the treasures of France's heritage in a whole new way. On the program: exceptional evening openings, guided or self-guided tours of permanent and temporary exhibitions, and discovery of unique sites... So much for an evening rich in knowledge. And Mus'X, the Musée de l'école Polytechnique in Palaiseau, is no exception to the rule!

Located in the heart of the École Polytechnique Central Library, Mus'X opened its doors in 2018. It houses the school's historical collections, built up since 1794 to meet the needs of teaching and research. Scientific instruments, busts, uniforms, flags: over 150 objects are on display, 84 of which are classified as Monuments Historiques. These rare items, carefully preserved by the Centre de Ressources Historiques, trace the evolution of knowledge, techniques and the École itself, with audiovisual devices enriching the tour.

Museum Night is the ideal opportunity to discover Mus'X free of charge, in a privileged setting. Whether you're passionate about science, history or simply curious, the museum offers a rich, documented and immersive tour.
