For Nuit des Musées, the Musée de l'Histoire de l'Immigration (Museum of Immigration History ) invites you to join us on Saturday, May 18, 2024 for a special nocturne. Housed in the century-old Palais de la Porte Dorée, this museum contains over 300 archival documents, photographs, works of art and literary works that tell us more about exile and integration in France, through work, sport...

A true Art Deco ensemble, the building is listed as a historic monument, designed by such great names in architecture and art as Albert Laprade, Pierre-Henri Ducos de la Haille, Alfred Janniot, Jean Prouvé and Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann. Built for the 1931 International Colonial Exhibition, the Palais has also been home to theTropical Aquarium since its inception.

  • Carte blanche to Pierre Rigal
    Saturday, May 18, 7:30 p.m.

For the 20th Nuit européenne des musées, relive a historic soccer match, be surprised by the Musée national de l'histoire de l'immigration and experience the Palais to the rhythm of a frenzied dance!
A major choreographer on the French and international scene, Pierre Rigal came to dance after a career in top-level athletics. From the outset, his relationship with the world of sport fueled part of his work, enabling him to draw parallels between sport and the performing arts. In fact, the notions of performance, physical and mental preparation, and surpassing oneself run through both worlds.
For European Museum Night 2024, Pierre Rigal and 15 dancers from his company offer an original program featuring extracts from shows, impromptu dances and danced races.
