In the heart of the Latin Quarter, in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, the Musée de Cluny brings together relics from the Middle Ages in a beautiful museum, located in the place of the former Gallo-Roman baths of Cluny, whose frigidarium is still visible.
It's a magnificent place to visit, as much for its architecture as for its collections. The Gallo-Roman baths have withstood almost 1800 years of history, in the heart of a city in perpetual motion. In 1485, the abbots of Cluny built their residence against the thermal baths, the high building where the collections of the Museum of the Middle Ages are housed!
The Musée de Cluny showcases its rich collection, with over 1,600 treasures from the Middle Ages, including the famous Lady and the Unicorn tapestry. The exhibition takes visitors through several centuries ofart andhistory, revealing traces of a culture both near and far from our own.

Travel back to the Middle Ages in music!
At regular intervals, sung interludes of medieval music will punctuate the museum visit. The singers from the Master in Early Music Performance (MIMA) at Sorbonne Université offer a musical counterpoint to the medieval collections. They bring to life plainchant, secular and sacred music from the 10th to the 15th century, throughout the museum’s galleries.
The Master in Early Music Performance with a specialization in medieval music provides professional training for musicians who want to complement their interpretive studies with high-level instruction that blends research and practice, within Sorbonne Université and its partner specialized institutions such as the CNSMD de Paris.
Directed by Olga Roudakova and Esther Labourdette.
