Fête de la musique 2023 in Paris: rock concerts and electro evening at the International

For this new Fête de la musique to be experienced on Wednesday June 21, 2023, the Salle de l'International, nestled in the 11th arrondissement in Paris, is offering to kick off the evening with three free rock concerts, followed by electro (and paying) dj sets.

Every year, the Fête de la Musique is celebrated everywhere on June 21! This year, for the 41st edition of this popular and festive event, the program is once again eclectic, with concerts featuring blues, rock, jazz, reggae, classical music, electro, punk, French variety and rap.

There's plenty to discover in the streets, parks, squares and gardens, as well as indoors, in case the rain comes and spoils the party on June 21. While some choose museums and institutions for their originality, others prefer the safety of a good, classic concert hall.

In Paris, these cultural venues are numerous, but few actually open their doors to the general public free of charge for the Fête de la musique. These include theOlympia, for a free concert in association with France Inter, and the L'international concert hall.

Located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris since 2008, this venue regularly welcomes music lovers to discover artists from the new French and international scene through rock concerts and after-midnight club nights.

And that's exactly what's in store for you on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, for the new Fête de la musique! Join us at L'international from 7pm to 11:30pm for an evening of free concerts, featuring rock and grunge. The evening continues from midnight to 6am with a (ticketed) party organized by CARE/MESS.

Fête de la musique 2023 à l'International, the program

IN CONCERT (free) / 7-11.30pm:

  • A Void
    (London, UK - Grunge)
A Void is a London trio formed in 2015. Nourished by diverse influences ranging from Sonic Youth to Björk, the trio quickly made a name for themselves with their first two albums in 2019 and 2022.
Associated with the Riot Grrrl movement, the trio brings grunge rock back into the mainstream in explosive live performances.

  • SheWolf
(Nogent Le Rotrou, FR - Grunge)
SheWolf is wild grunge rock from three musicians exiled in the heart of the Perche countryside. Committed artists, social-deniers and feminists, with a passion for human sciences, their lyrics dissect the human soul through compositions that are both acidic and melodic.

  • Pythies
(Paris, FR - Grunge / Garage)
A brand-new band from Paris, Pythies draw on the feminist and esoteric underground culture to create dissonant, grunge melodies.

EN CLUB (7€) / 00h-6h:

  • Æter
A musician steeped in krautrock, modal jazz and satiesque languors, Æter's sets draw on the raw energy of techno in search of ecstatic momentum.
