Fête de la musique 2023: a festive, participatory ball in Nanterre (92)

A not-to-be-missed musical event launched in France in 1982, the Fête de la Musique returns every year on June 21. Once again, this popular, festive and free event puts live music in the spotlight for a day and evening that music lovers wouldn't miss for the world.

Every June 21, musicians, both amateur and professional, take advantage of the opportunity to bring out their instruments and honor musical styles as diverse and varied as rap, rock, pop, metal, world music, electro, classical music, jazz, blues, French variety... So many styles to discover and listen to in so many places, including the street, of course, but also concert halls, bars and restaurants, and even some institutions and museums.

As you'd expect, there are plenty of great music venues in Paris and the Paris region. This is particularly true of Nanterre. This town in the Hauts-de-Seine region of the Paris region is once again taking part in the Fête de la Musique.

This year, for the 41st edition of this popular event, the municipality invites its residents to its Grand Bal des Nanterriens on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Starting at 8pm in the Parc des Anciennes-Mairies, this event is an opportunity for families, friends and couples to get together in a warm and friendly atmosphere to celebrate the traditional Fête de la Musique.

Fête de la musique 2023 in Nanterre, the program

Join us at 8pm in the Parc des Anciennes-Mairies for the grand bal des Nanterriens.

This convivial event is a participatory and festive ball, a show orchestrated by Musiciens-Voyageurs and passeuses de danses from the company Système B. Composed of musicians, dancers, a researcher and an ethnomusicologist, the company Système B works for cultural diversity through music and dance.

Taken on extraordinary journeys around the world, the audience dances to the sound of original, universal music. This spectacular ball joyfully showcases the diversity of cultures present in our towns and villages.
