On the occasion of the Olympic flame handover ceremony, scheduled for Friday April 26, 2024 at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, the famous Nana Mouskouri will sing and perform the French and Greek anthems under the direction of Dimitris Papadimitriou.

On April 16, 101 days before the start of the Olympic Games in Paris, the famous Olympic flame was lit in Olympia, Greece, as tradition dictates. From now on, the Olympic flame will make its way to the Greek capital in the form of a relay. Once in Athens, the flame will board the Belem and cross the Mediterranean Sea, before arriving in France, in Marseille to be precise, on May 8, 2024. From May 8 to July 26, 2024, the Olympic Torch Relay will travel the roads of France, with a stopover in Paris on July 14 and 15.

But before leaving Greece, a ceremony to hand over the Olympic flame will be held at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 6:30pm. Presented by Nikos Aliagas, the ceremony will also welcome Nana Mouskouri.

Considered one of the greatest voices of international chanson, and a true timeless icon, the Greek artist, born in Chania, Crete, on October 13 1934, will sing and interpret the French and Greek anthems under the direction of Dimitris Papadimitriou.

Now aged 89, the dark-rimmed icon has left her mark on several generations, thanks to her unique voice and an incredibly rich discography spanning a career spanning almost six decades! Nana Mouskouri's most memorable songs include " Je chante avec toi Liberté " (1981), " Only Love " (1984) and " Plaisir d'amour " (1971).

Rather discreet in recent years, Nana Mouskouri is back in the spotlight for the Paris Olympic Games and the Olympic torch ceremony in Athens on April 26.
