Taking the metro this morning felt like being in Los Angeles ! Unfortunately, there was no real beach or sun when we got off the train, but six Paris stations were renamed for a few hours to mark the occasion and pass the torch to the city that will host the Olympic Games in 2028! Santa Monica for Saint-Michel, Hollywood Boulevard for Grands Boulevards - RATP had a lot of fun tricking wide-awake commuters this Thursday morning, September 12!
An undisclosed operation celebrating the handover from Paris to Los Angeles, with a partnership between RATP and LA Metro, as American travellers have also seen their stations renamed from Chatsworth to Champs-Elysées, from Watts Tower to Eiffel Tower or Monrovia to Montmartre! Here, L'Haÿ-les-Roses on the 14 becomes Melrose, Malesherbes on the 3 becomes Malibu and Belleville on the 2 and 11 becomes Beverly Hills, a nice wink!
An animation that the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens loves to put on, for April Fools' Day or current events!
