The heart of Choisy-le-Roi will be beating to the rhythm of love this weekend, thanks to the first edition of the "Salon du Livre d'Amour". On October 20 and 21, 2023, the Médiathèque Louis Aragon will host this unique event, the first salon dedicated exclusively tolove.
Located at 17 rue Pierre Mendès France, the media library will open its doors at 7pm on Friday October 20 for a grand opening. The evening will feature a musical reading by Barbara Carlotti of her text L'art et la manière. A bold and poetic exploration of female sexuality, it promises to be one of the highlights of the show.
The following day, from 10am, visitors can discover a rich and varied palette of activities celebrating love in all its guises. From romance to poetry, round-table discussions to music, love will be discussed, sung, debated, drawn and celebrated.
Love, that universal and timeless sentiment, has always been a major source of inspiration in literature and the arts. This exhibition is an opportunity to explore the various representations of love, to understand its evolution in contemporary society, and to examine the feminist issues involved.
The town's media libraries, in collaboration with partner bookshops Le Marque-Page and Tome 47, have put together a rich program to satisfy both young and old. With meetings with authors, book signings, shows and illustration workshops, these two days promise to be festive and enriching for the whole family.
