A few months ahead of the world final scheduled for September 29 in Zurich, the Red Bull BC One, one of the most recognized breakdance championships on the circuit, is taking up summer quarters at the WIP Villette from July 4 to 8, 2018. An opportunity for lovers of hip-hop culture to experience five days of battles and workshops with the discipline's top names.
New for 2018: qualifications and a B-Girl battle (special for girls).
Whether you're a novice or an initiate, free sessions will be offered every afternoon, from 2pm to 5pm, to work on your dance steps alongside the best breakdancers. The program includes powermove, footwork and toprock. Open to all on simple registration. Then, in the evening, at 6pm, it's time for the battles, also free with registration.
On Friday, July 7, the day will be dedicated to stand-up dancing, with some of the biggest names in popping and waacking.
Women are once again in the spotlight this season. On Saturday July 7, there will be an exceptional battle between the 8 top B-Girls on the circuit. The winner will win a ticket to Zurich, where the world's top 16 B-Girls will compete.
And because it's also a competition, the event will close on Sunday July 8 from 2pm to 6.30pm with the Red Bull BC One France Cypher, the French qualifier for the breakdance championship. The best b-boys in France will compete for a place in the grand final in Zurich. The promise of a high-flying show!
