For several years now, the Île de Puteaux sports center has been in need of a makeover! Situated between Paris and the Hauts-de-Seine, this natural area will be home to new sports facilities, thanks to a call for tenders issued by the city of Paris and won by UrbanSoccer, a company specializing in urban sports. The existing 11-hectare center will also see the redevelopment of its three synthetic turf pitches, 16 tennis courts, a rugby pitch and a golf driving range.
On the agenda are 10 new pitches for five-a-side and seven-a-side soccer, 14 for padel, a fast-growing indoor racquet sport, and the headquarters of the PSG Academy, France's largest soccer school for youngsters aged 3 to 17. On site, users will be able to find a club house in the Pavillon de l'île, to"accommodate in one place all customers enjoying related activities, sports facilities, but also catering areas, snack bar, bar and boutique".
The project, costing almost 8 million euros, is to be environmentally friendly, since no trees are to be felled and 2,000 new ones are to be planted, to create a mini-forest. UrbanSoccer, which has been awarded a 20-year contract to operate and develop the site, aims to make it a complex accessible to all, with a special offer for young people under 26, and a special welcome for schoolchildren and leisure centers. The perfect setting for sporting activities!
