After the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, which gave everyone the urge to get active, the French Athletics Federation is taking advantage of this craze to organize"La Marche en fête" on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at the Passerelle Léopold-Sédar-Senghor, all day long! The aim is to promote physical activity and active walking, through free, fun activities.
In our country, a sedentary lifestyle affects a large majority of people - 95% of adults and 50% of 6-17 year-olds - a trend that the French can quickly reverse simply by walking 30 minutes a day! Alone, with friends or family, everyone is invited to join in a quick and accessible challenge: walk together over a 3km course for half an hour!
In the entertainment village, from 9am to 4pm, you can also test your maximum straight-line walking speed, take advantage of conferences on health and sport, advice on walking and nutrition, attend discovery workshops (stretching, yoya, circuit training, kids' athletics) and musical entertainment, as well as meet Marie-José Pérec and Aurelien Quinion (9th in the Olympic 20km walk), godmother and godfather of the event!
