Less than four years after opening, the Shangri-La Hotel, Paris has been awarded the coveted "Palace distinction", joining the prestigious circle of Parisian "Palaces".

The Shangri-La Hotel, located in the 16th arrondissement, has been awarded the prestigious title of "Distinction Palace " after 4 years of operation. The members of the Atout France jury were won over by the soul, history and cachet of this beautiful Parisian mansion built in 1896 by Prince Roland Bonaparte, the Emperor's grand-nephew.

Aristocracy and haute bourgeoisie, men of letters and scientists of the time gathered in this majestic setting around the Bonaparte family. Completely renovated and sublimated by Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts from 2006 to 2010, the Prince's residence, now listed as a Historic Monument, once again welcomes the world's greats.

This Parisian palace offers an incomparable blend of Asian hospitality and French art de vivre. It has become a must-see in Paris. It has many assets, and not the least. Most of its 101 rooms and suites offer breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower and Paris's greatest monuments.

Its three restaurants are among the capital's finest gastronomic addresses, with L'Abeille, a French gourmet restaurant run by two-starred chef Philippe Labbé, Shang Palace, France's only starred Chinese restaurant, and La Bauhinia, offering French and Asian cuisine.

The spa is a haven of peace in the heart of Paris, with treatment rooms, a 16-meter pool bathed in natural light and a state-of-the-art fitness area. And let's not forget the historic salons, all with natural daylight and a total surface area of 550m², reminiscent of the finest receptions held in Paris at the end of the 19th century.

So it's almost natural that the Shangri-La Hotel should join the closed circle of Parisian palaces!
