TaoKan has opened a second restaurant on the Right Bank, near Saint-Honoré. Following in the footsteps of its German-Pratin elder brother, this new showcase of flavors offers an inventive and tempting menu of Chinese cuisine.

While TaoKan has been delighting the Parisian elite in Saint-Germain-des-Prés for some time now, the Chinese gourmet restaurant crosses the Seine with its new address on the Saint-Honoré side. Just a stone's throw from Chez Colette and the Jardin des Tuileries, the newcomer has opted for a zen-like, elegant atmosphere conducive to confidences. Its uncluttered decor and attractive tableware immediately evoke the Far East, while its delicious dishes for sharing take us straight to Asia.

At TaoKan, it's fair to say that we're pampered and guided: the waiters take great care of us, not hesitating to recommend dishes or pairings, and to share their own personal favorites with us. First we try the foie gras, ginger and chicken brioche (14€): a real treat! Then there's the Dim Sum, melt-in-your-mouth and tasty, like no other Chinese restaurant you've ever tried.

To make no secret of the fact, we were won over by all the starters: from the lobster and fresh herbs spring rolls (14€) to the crispy chicken egg rolls (9€) and the Wakame seaweed salad (10€). And, as we've been advised, we share these small gourmet plates to make lunch even more convivial.

The dishes and their accompaniments also live up to their promises, continuing to make our taste buds dance. On the menu: steamed sea bass fillet with fresh herb soy sauce (28€), tender and perfectly seasoned; Loc Lac beef fillet with Taokan sauce (30€), spicy but delicious; pan-fried eggplant with sweet and sour sauce (8€); and pan-fried spinach with soy sauce and peanuts (8€). There's no doubt that we're dealing with a master of contemporary Chinese cuisine, who knows how to marry flavors and handle subtleties.

To accompany the meal, we chose (and we don't regret it!) the Soba Cha tea, a buckwheat infusion that goes perfectly with all the dishes chosen. It's served in a cast-iron teapot and beautiful ceramic cups. Note that TaoKan also offers a wide selection of wines, and some amazing refined Chinese cocktails - we'll let you be surprised to discover them.

A trio of coconut pearls (10€) round off this delicious meal, from which we leave as delighted as we are satiated. It makes us feel like we're eating healthily, and even better: that we've traveled all the way to Hong Kong!
