Right next to the Bouillon Racine, this Art Nouveau style institution created in 1906 by the Chartier brothers between the Latin Quarter, Odéon and Saint Michel, has just opened Le Bar du Bouillon.
Wine and tapas bar, it welcomes you in a cosy decor, in which you feel immediately good.
You can choose between classic tables or the small lounge area where you can comfortably sit in armchairs.
We particularly appreciate the colorful and warm decoration of the place.
In the middle, a large bar and a beautiful wine cellar where you can discover very good wines.
Take a seat and let yourself be guided by Benjamin Buttner, wine expert who made us discover delicious beverages.
Right hand of the owner Luc Morand, his main concern is to make you spend a good time. And the least we can say is that it's a success!
The wine list offers no less than 250 references, classified by region of course, but especially with the names of small and large producers.
To accompany these delicious beverages, a varied and tasty tapas menu.
We were able to taste the tarama with sea urchin coral from the Comptoir du Caviar (9€), thehomemade duck foie gras (12€) or the pâté en croûte (7€) that our taste buds remember. You also have Cecina de Leon beef ham aged for 12 months (9€) or the carpaccio of sea bass and scallops with truffle oil (12€).
On the hot tapas side, we were pleasantly surprised by theJapanese-style glazed eel with Vénéré rice risotto (14€), and won over by the snacked Port en Bessin scallops and celery purée with truffle oil (12€).
If you prefer meat, let yourself be tempted by the lollipops of chicken lacquered with honey and lemongrass (8€) or the skewer of duck breast and foie gras from the Masse house (12€).
Gourmets are not forgotten with a chocolate mousse (5€), a crème brûlée (4€) or ice cream from the Pedone house.
The Bar du Bouillon is one of these favorite addresses, as we like them.
The place is warm, the staff very welcoming, and the wine and food list of great quality. All this without ruining yourself.
Go there with your eyes closed!
