Yummy and Guiltfree keeps on taking over the French capital by opening a new shop-restaurant in the 9th arrondissement, just across Grevin Paris, the third address of the brand. If you don’t know Yummy and Guiltfree, it’s a fast good offering waffles to enjoy on the spot or to take away and that is specialized in gluten-free and lactose-free (guaranteed for intolerant people) waffles. One enjoys a multitude of sweet waffles as well as delicious savory waffles like buckwheat pancakes.
To set up the right waffle recipe required many years and many chefs. A crispy, light and delicious waffles like waffles from yesteryear. To this, add chef Damien Cassart’s recipe (a chef with 15 years of experience who trained at prestigious restaurants such as Alain Ducasse’s Louis XV and Yannick Alleno’s Mansour) and you get a delicious mix of flavors.
On the menu, we have recipes thought up to stay on, the Icôniques, such as the one with hazelnut oil marinated salmon, the vegetarian one or the Thai chicken one, as well as temporary recipes according to seasons. When we came, we tried the excellent waffle with braised ham along with chop suey cabbage and mushrooms. But I know for a fact that cheese lovers will certainly fall for the “Montagnarde”.
Moving on to sweet creations, go for the classics such as chocolate-hazelnut, pistachio or even Madagascar vanilla. Unless the lemon curd waffle eyes at you. Let’s enjoy happy combinations and mixes.
Note that all preparations are homemade, ensuring quality and fresh waffles made to order and before your eyes.
In terms of setting, we find ourselves in a modern teashop with cozy bench seats and rattan armchairs. Funfair codes are here but in a totally revisited fashion. The place is big and opens onto the counter where we can see our waffles being made.
So, how about testing to see for yourself? Careful though, you may come back there more often than you could expect…
