L’Arrière-Pays is hotel Lancaster’s summer terrace promising us a journey in the sun without even leaving Paris thanks to its Mediterranean-inspired décor and fresh menu created by chef Sébastien Giroud.

Going to hotel Lancaster is being sure you will have a moment untouched by time, far from the city’s hustle and bustle. On sunny days, the hotel reveals its best-kept secret, its summer terrace. Halfway between a patio and a verdant garden, L’Arrière-Pays, Hotel Lancaster’s terrace, takes us to Provence, to Italy and on a Mediterranean island for a moment of quietness and delight.

Large terracotta pots, lemon trees, comfy pillows… Here, nothing can disturb the quietness of this small oasis set a stone’s throw from the Champs-Elysées. To improve this summer break, chef Sébastien Giroud draws inspiration from Provence, Italy and Menorca to create a hearty and indulging menu.

As a matter of fact, the chef is inspired by products from the Mediterranean coast such as olives, scrubland herbs, cheeses and cold cuts, local fishing and rock fishes to serve fresh and simple cuisine packed with sun. On the menu, tapas to share and eat with your fingers such as Pedro Ximenez vinegar candied Mediterranean squid, anise king shrimp tempura, board of Corsican charcuterie or Provence cheeses, organic vegetable falafel with cream cheese and lemon.

But the menu also has dishes to keep to yourselves: pistou and vegetable minestrone, black angus beef carpaccio, heirloom tomatoes with mozzarella, fresh roman salad, tuna ventresca and piquillos!
