Let us run to La Maison du Daya, the latest spot in Paris 11th arrondissement, to meet Dan unveiling his homemade bread, a blend of Israel and Iran. Tasty marinated meat, sauces, and homemade drinks, what a treat!

La Maison du Daya is a street food corner with a takeaway and delivery (Deliveroo, UberEats) option set at 116 rue du Chemin Vert in Paris 11th arrondissement. What is Daya? This is a recipe created by Dan blending an Israelian recipe and an Israeli recipe. This bread tastes like tortilla and naan, but it is soft, moist, and crunchy. Dayas are baked on site and to order.

Why “Daya”? Because this adventure is names after the contraction of Dan’s name and his sister’s, Yaëlle. As for fillings, Dan enjoys selecting quality produces. After working in a butcher’s shop for 10 years, choosing meat is what he does best. Therefore, for his preparations, you have Black Angus flank steak, nicely marbled, very clear veal thoroughly selected, as well as boned chicken thigh to provide softer Dayas.

Meats are marinated: garlic, cilantro, and other spices to bring even more flavors to the recipe. As for sauce, Dan also makes them. You can taste the nicely mustard-seasoned mayonnaise you can topped with spicy sauce or not.

When we came, we went for the “Daya du Patron”. A Daya based on cherry tomatoes, arugula, lamb foreshank, ground dark turkey meat, cloves, cumin, cilantro, and sweet pepper. Meats are soft and flavorful, a wonderful recipe we love. If you like lamb, go for it!

My partner went for the “Daya du moment” based on Bresse Poultry. Marinated and cooked first, chicken is then pulled in the Daya. So, so good.

La Maison du Daya also provides bowls with Daya bread. Go for the Black Angus beef version or the very indulging version with pan-fried burrata and pomegranate.

Pair them all with homemade drinks. Very poor in sugar and refreshing, as well as original, it is a big yes for us. On the menu, fresh mint lemonade, orangeade or raspberry with fresh basil, or how about rose and pomegranate tea?

Last but not least, you cannot leave without having the “Desserts de la mama”. Almond, pear and chocolate cake when we came, but you can also have the Nutella Daya.
