It is hard to resist Montmartre charm. This picturesque neighborhood in Paris continues to attract photographers, Parisians, and tourists who come and unwind in the maze of narrow streets and stairs. The Montmartre charm happens in no time while one rediscovers scenes, details, and uncommon landscapes. Among the most iconic spots in this Parisian district, the Pink House enjoys a prominent place.
This is a small pink house, standing against a building covered in ivy, at the corner of the rue de l’abreuvoir and the rue des saules. Now a genuine symbol of Montmartre charm, rumor has it the house owes its atypical color to Laure Gargallo – famous to have been a model for Picasso. She purchased the house in the early 20th century and is said to have painted it pink before opening an artist café.
Today, after being repainted in white, the Maison Rose is a local table giving pride of place to family French and Italian cuisine. The menu changes with the season trying to be eco-friendly and using local ingredients. You can also enjoy the drink offering with organic ingredients.
