Coronavirus: Art Paris 2020 at the Grand Palais postponed to September

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, Art Paris, the major contemporary art fair, said to take place in Paris from April 2 to 5, 2020 has been postponed first to May 28 to 31, 2020 but it will ultimately take place from September 10 to 13, 2020. This unmissable event of contemporary art in Paris is the promise of beautiful discoveries including, this year, an exploration of Barcelona, Lisbon, Madrid and Porto.

Postponed, cancelled, online... Art Paris has faced many twists and turns. But art fans are ultimately invited to discover the edition 2020 of the fair at the Grand Palais from September 10 to 13, 2020. Come and celebrate the 22nd edition in glory!

This year, about a hundred modern and contemporary art galleries expect you.  All in all, 20 countries are represented including. More than ever, the event rejects the boundaries and invites to discover.

To make sure the fair takes place smoothly, a 3000-visitor at the same limit has been set. The number of exhibitors have been lowered, and opening hours will bee changed, to limit the number of visitors for opening, as well as opening hours for professionals and collectors every day from 10 a.m. to noon.

As it happens every year since 2015, Art Paris encourages exhibiting galleries to display monographic exhibitions (focusing on one single artist). And for the edition 2020, we discover about forty of them, a record for the event. Stay alert because these Solo Shows popping out under the Grand Palais cupola likely can trigger your curiosity! By the way, Art Paris invites you to a cultural journey with Etoile du Sud. After Latin-American art from the 60’s to nowadays, the exhibition focuses this year on the Iberian Peninsula with focus on Barcelona, Lisbon, Madrid and Porto. genuine invitation to travel and discover new horizons through Art!

Let’s not forget either about visiting the Secteur Promesses. Here, 14 promising and young art galleries are put in the spotlight by the fair, each displaying one to three emerging artists. Keep your eyes open and remember their names, you may hear about them very soon. 

The icing on the cake, the show also introduces you to its VIP tour “A Paris au Printemps” [Spring in Paris]. Through the latter, Art Paris shows you how the city of lights actually became one of the world’s capitals of art especially with the opening of private foundations. In spring, art events increase making of Paris the place to be! 

You get it now: for this edition, Art Paris outdoes itself even more for art discoveries lovers’ greatest joy. The fair does not leave out those who have been struggling during the crisis: they are creating a solidarity funds and commit to donate all benefits of the tickets to help young galleries taking part in the fair.
