The brand-new shopping mall Vill’Up offers various activities for the whole family and features a 14-m high wind tunnel: iFLY. The indoor wind tunnel expects you for a never-before seen experience. With the current health crisis, the adventure has had to be altered to keep you safe: starting from August 1, the health pass is compulsory to anyone over 18 years of age. Furthermore, bookings cancelled because of the health crisis can be rescheduled until February 1, 2022.
Moreover, in order to keep health guidelines and everyone safe, in the air and on the ground, each flight session is limited "to provide more exchanges with the iFly team and comply with social distancing", the team specified in a release. Skydivers will have an extra gear to protect their faces and projections.
iFLY Vill’up is first and foremost an exceptional 14-m high wind tunnel, entirely glazed whereas the common wind tunnels aren’t higher than 5 meters. The wind tunnel in Dubai – known for its excessiveness – is “only” 8 meters high, that is to say just a bit higher than the half of the Vill’up one.
iFLY is supplied by 4 400-horsepower motors so by 1,600 horsepower sucking the air up to inject it in the wind tunnel and make the participants fly.
The “ground” of the tube is a metal nest on which you can walk like on a catamaran trampoline. It enables the instructor to stand, a position that has a smaller windage, so that he can guide you and talk with gestures throughout the session.
For about 2 minutes (for a first time), you go into the tunnel with the instructor who will help you find your balance and take your marks. Little by little, you learn to move with your hands as if they were spoilers. The more you take your marks the more you can try new flight positions: on your back, seated, standing or different figures.
Everything is recorded and broadcasted on screens with a small delay so that you can see your performance again once you’re out. You can also buy the photos and/or videos of your performance before or after the session.
In concrete terms, you should make sure you can spend 90 minutes on the spot. The experience starts with a TV briefing, followed by a complete theoretical training. Then, you put on your equipment and here you go for two flights in a row! In the end, you leave with your Free Skydiving certificate.
Every 30 minutes, instructors provide a skydiving demonstration to show the public a wonderful overview of all the figures it’s possible to make when you’re experienced.
Prices are set according to the number of people, according to everyone’s level and the time of the session, but they start from €59.90 with 2 flights for 1 person.
