But when will it be possible to buy tickets for the various competitions? In an interview with Eurosport, Tony Estanguet, President of the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee, gave us some answers about the opening of ticket sales for the Olympic Games in Paris.

" This is one of the next big issues for Paris 2024. Our objective is to be able to open ticketing in 2023, in the first half of the year, or even in the first quarter," Tony Estanguet told Eurosport, adding that the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee was "in the process of setting the objective " for its teams. " It's a program with more than 13 million tickets, with the aim of having accessible prices," he added during the interview, which can be found on the Eurosport website.

Since then, the Paris 2024 Board of Directors has provided more answers. Meeting on Monday, March 21, 2022, it lifted the veil on ticketing arrangements. So, how much will it cost to buy a ticket? How will it be possible to book, and when? We give you the answers.

As Tony Estanguet had already indicated, " 13.4 million tickets " will be put on sale to attend the next Games: 10 million for the Olympic Games and 3.4 million for the Paralympic Games. "There will be many ways to attend the Games, but all will be sold on a single sales site. For the first time in the history of the Games, ticketing will be 100% digital and accessible to all," says the website. Packages for several competitions will be sold, as well as single tickets.

As for the price, an entry fee of 24 euros has been agreed for each discipline. This starting price covers a total of 1 million tickets for all 28 sports in competition. For the remainder, 50% of tickets will be sold at 50 euros or less. Tickets for the Paralympic Games will start at 15 euros. Half of them will be sold at 25 euros or less.

What about the reservation process? We'll have to wait a little longer and adapt to an original ticketing system. "The official website states: "In view of the very high demand for the Olympic Games, a lottery system will enable everyone to compete on an equal footing for a ticket.

The first stage of the booking process is scheduled for the end of 2022, with the opening of an online platform where it will be possible to register for the famous draw. Registration for the packs will begin on December 1, 2022 and run until January 31, 2023. The first people to be drawn will then be able to reserve, in February 2023, the various packs marketed for the occasion. Please note that the quantity is still to be determined.

Once this first window is closed, a second window, again determined by a draw, will open for sales. This time, it will concern single tickets, which will go on sale for the Olympic Games in May 2023, followed by the Paralympic Games in autumn 2023. The last tickets will be sold at the end of 2023.

For the more impatient, and those who want to put all the chances on their side, note that it is also possible to register " within the Paris 2024 club ".

Ticketing calendar :

• December 1, 2022: Registration for the draw
  Registration for the draw for the sale of packs begins. A pack includes several tickets giving access to several competitions. Registration is open until January 31, 2023.

Please note that ticket sales for the Paralympic Games will not open until autumn 2023. So you'll need a large dose of luck to get those precious tickets!
