On the occasion of the Nuit des Musées 2024, the Centre Pompidou welcomes you for a free visit and activities, this Saturday, May 18. Discover the program!

Every year, the Centre Pompidou goes all out and pampers its visitors. For this 20th edition of the Nuit des Musées, the Beaubourg museum is organizing a lively evening, with numerous events for all. This Saturday, May 18, 2024, the Centre Pompidou opens its doors to visitors free of charge, from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m., for a wild night out!

The Musée national d'art moderne, located on the 4th and 5th floors of the Centre Pompidou, is freely accessible, allowing us to enjoy the 2,000 works by Jean Dubuffet, Francis Bacon, Yves Klein, Jean Tinguely, Andy Warhol, Christian Boltanski, Mark Rothko or Annette Messager presented in the museum's galleries.

These permanent collections might be enough to keep us busy most of the night, but the Centre Pompidou didn't want to stop there. A few more surprises await us.

During this evening, which promises to be a memorable one, visitors can enjoy a variety of tours and workshops throughout the evening, all of which can be enjoyed with family, friends or on their own.

The program for this Nuit des Musées :

  • The class, the work!
    Saturday, May 18, 6:00 p.m.

As part of the "La classe, l'œuvre" orality program set up by the French Ministries of Education and Culture, the Centre Pompidou is inviting pupils from the Capitaine Lagarche elementary school to discover modern and contemporary art through spoken word. Following a year-long series of visits to the museum and in-class workshops, the CE1 pupils become ambassadors for the works of art they have discovered. Lend an ear and listen to their voices.

  • The Parliament of Works
    Saturday, May 18, 6:00 p.m.

Eloquence is about moving, persuading and convincing, leaving a lasting impression on the public mind. It's about "daring" debate, the dialogue of thought in action.
Le Parlement des œuvres invites groups of three or four students from the Université de Nanterre and the Université de Paris-Cité to discuss and exchange ideas through oratorical jousting around modern and contemporary works of art.
Each group of our Young Parliamentarians defends a position, a different point of view on the work. Accompanied by an MC, they will have three minutes to defend their position in front of the audience. The theme of this year's European Museum Night is "Elsewhere in Art".

  • 13/16 underinfluence
    Saturday, May 18, 7:00 pm

Whether collective or individual, games initiate different ways of being together, of recognizing oneself, of measuring oneself against others and oneself. If games can establish norms, can they also free us from them? As part of the Cultural Olympiad, the Centre Pompidou invites young people to question the framework provided by the rules of the game - whether social, sporting or cultural - and to rewrite the rules that enable them to reassert themselves within the collective.
The Shonen company presents the participative performance "13/16 sousinfluence", a clubbin'techno including all ages, all bodies, in a "dance epidemic". In this festive atmosphere, audiences are invited to dance under the influence of amateur and professional dancers, bathed in the electronic music of Berlin DJs YesSoeur.

  • "Double game " Flash course
    Saturday, May 18, 8:00 pm

Join Centre Pompidou lecturers as they explore the museum's collection through a series of exceptional itineraries in which artistic and Olympic values come together, much to our surprise.
Itineraries: "The body", "Perseverance", "The collective" and "The rule of the game".

  • "Five museums at play" Cultural Olympiad label
    Saturday, May 18, 8:00 pm

To warm up for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Centre Pompidou invites you to take part in a riddle trail: "Five museums at play". Designed in collaboration with four other Parisian museums - the Musée d'Orsay, the Musée de l'Orangerie, the Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac and the Jardin des Tuileries of the Musée du Louvre - this game involves discovering the mystery phrase associated with each of these locations.
Come and investigate, in connection with the works in the collection and the seven Olympic and Paralympic values. To increase your chances of being selected at random and winning Olympic or museum prizes, you are encouraged to complete the five game trails.

  • "Beaubourg by night" Permanent history laboratory
    Saturday, May 18, 9:00 pm

This meeting of the Laboratoire d'histoire permanente is dedicated to the Centre Pompidou nights, rich in a rich history of shows, performances, debates, privatizations and nocturnal openings. Even when closed, the building lives on through the night, to the rhythm of its guards and firefighters. Its lighting illuminates the neighborhood and contributes to its festive atmosphere. Come and celebrate the Centre's nights with testimonials, encounters, performances and historical documents during this multi-voiced evening hosted by curator Anabelle Lacroix.

It's an exceptional night, a dreamlike moment not to be missed! So save the date, and get ready for this Night at the Centre Pompidou.
