The traditional circus season is on!
Every winter the circus season goes strong in Paris, especially with Christmas magic we find early under the Circus Tents (and the arenas) housing circuses. Whether they are traditional or contemporary, with or without animals, French or stranger, circus shows amaze children and adults.
Here are the circuses you can find in Paris for the season 2018/2019:
This contemporary circus company performs its “last season” in the Parc de la Villette. A wonderful performance to poetically say farewell to the audience.
After a series of shows critically acclaimed this summer, the French company The Rat Pack will perform its circus show “Speakeasy” at Paris Palais des Glaces for the Holiday season. The show takes us to the United-States at the time of Prohibition…
Quebec company Cirque Eloize will present its latest creation, “Saloon”, a show inspired by the American Far West performed at Paris 13ème Art Théâtre. On the menu, acrobat cowboys and folk music.
“Campana” is Cirque Trottola new show, taking over Paris 104. This year, the two artists that became four will call on musicians. On the menu – among others – acrobatic lifts and flying trapezes.
For this season 2018/2019, the Bouglione family has concocted “Extra”, a show including lots of clowns, as well as doves and magnificent elephants.
“Origines” is Company Alexis Gruss 44th creation. A show in tribute to the equestrian tradition in circuses including no fewer than 40 horses on the track.
This year, Cirque Pinder promotes French artists. Indeed, the “New Stars of the Circus” is a show including only young French circus artists.
Circus from elsewhere:
For this season, the Cirque Phénix called on the Stars of Beijing’s Circus. The Chinese artists present an epic from their country.
“Totem”, an exclusive show in France, performed by Canadians from Cirque du Soleil, tells the story of the evolution of species. An enchanting show where creatures slowly show the way to the human species.
