From September 11, 2019 to February 23,, 2020, Paris Musée Maillol welcomes the great Naïve masters as part of the “From the Douanier Rousseau to Séraphine. The Great Naïve Masters” exhibition.
Over a hundred dreamy and colorful paintings will be exhibited for the first time ever in Paris. We’ll have Henri Rousseau and Séraphine Louis of course, but the exhibition also aims at highlighting a whole bunch of less known artists such as André Bauchant, Camille Bombois, Ferdinand Desnos, Jean eve, René Rimbert, Dominique Peyronner and Louis Vivin.
Among their greatest fans we have for instance André Breton, Pablo Picasso, Kandinksy, Le Corbusier as well as Wilhelm Uhde, conquered by their modern and colorful works.
We must say that back in the days, these artists managed to renew the painting, away from the academicism. The “From the Douanier Rousseau to Séraphine. The Great Naïve Masters” exhibition will offer a selection of works against the flow with a themed tour. The occasion for the public to discover the inventiveness and the subversion of the great naïve masters!
One of the great exhibitions you don’t want to miss at the Musée Maillol from September 11, 2019 to February 23 2020. Make the best of it: facing its success, the Musée Maillol has added some extra time to the event that was first planned to end on January 19.
