The occasion to discover all the secrets of one of Paris most legendary cinema… For the 36thedition of European Heritage DaysCinema Max Linder invites Parisians and other lovers of the 7th art to come over and discover its premise on September 22, 2019. Movie fans will have the chance to visit the cinema and the projection booth in order to attend a demonstration.

A movie that enjoys a rather discreet façade on Grands Boulevards, and yet it has a story deeply rooted in its plinths and panelings. Formerly known as the Kosmorama, the place is taken over in 1914 by burlesque actor Max Linder who inaugurates it on March 21, 1919. The venue was then one of the most modern cinemas in Europe. Right before the war, the cinema is then taken over by Pathé in 1932 and renovated in 1957. It’s now the last cinema enjoying a panoramic mono-screen. It measures 107sqm.

A huge room, including 557 velvet chairs, wallpapered walls and even Venetian style stucco balconies inspired by the 30’s…. A decorum marked by history that visitors can discover for the very first time as it’s the first time Cinéma Max Linder takes part in European Heritage Days. Note that tours are only held on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The occasion to know more about one of the last and very beautiful cinemas on Grands Boulevards… Let’s go and discover the 7th art, shall we?
