This year, the event takes place on the weekend of September 19th and 20th, 2026. In Paris and the Île-de-France region, numerous museums, monuments, castles, and other cultural sites open their doors free of charge to invite you to enjoy fantastic events, guided tours, and exhibitions.
With family, between friends, in a couple or solo, this flagship cultural event is a must. And for good reason—everyone finds their happiness there! In 2026, the emphasis is on two compelling themes: « Heritage of Photography» and «Heritage in Peril: Revive, Resist, Reimagine».
In 2026, a host of new features await, while the traditional highlights remain a staple. Visitors can explore iconic sites such as the Elysée Palace, government ministries, the Institute of France, or even get a behind-the-scenes look at the Galeries Lafayette, often off-limits outside these special days.
