Do you know the Heritage Days? This European event lets us, for a weekend, explore the country’s finest cultural and historical sites. But the museums, castles and churches near you are open all year round, you might say. And that’s true. That’s why, during this 43rd edition of Heritage Days, we’re choosing to focus on the city’s great institutions in Paris!
Indeed, during the weekend of September 19–20, 2026, the Élysée Palace, the Bank of France, the ministries, the Senate, the National Assembly and many others will swing open their doors to visitors! It’s a chance to tour places that are typically closed to the public and to discover these institutions that play such a central role in our country.
Don't hesitate: come and unravel the mysteries of the places of power opened up for the occasion, and learn more about the missions of the various institutions based in the capital. To find out what's on at these very special sites, follow the guide!
Beware: these sites are very popular with the public, so you'll need to register in advance to be able to visit them... Or get up early for a chance to enter these symbol-filled buildings!
