Among the spots not to miss, the Italian Embassy in France opens up exceptionally on Saturday, September 19. Located in the Hôtel de Boisgelin (also known as La Rochefoucauld-Doudeauville or de Janvry), an elegant hôtel particulier in the 7th arrondissement built in 1732 by architect Jean-Sylvain Cartaud, this jewel of Parisian heritage has withstood the test of time and counted among its owners figures such as Cardinal de Boisgelin and the Duke of Doudeauville. Reworked at the end of the 19th century, it now houses, among other things, a polychrome marble staircase inspired by Versailles, a winter garden, a chapel, and wood paneling from the Château de Bercy.
Since 1938, the hotel has been home to theItalian Embassy, in return for the French Embassy's use of the Farnese Palace in Rome. On this exclusive tour, you'll discover a sumptuous blend of Italian art and French heritage, with some areas listed as Monuments Historiques.
