On the menu for these Heritage Days 2026 ? The Hotel de Ville of Versailles, a true chapter of history come to life! Originally owned by one of Louis XIV’s natural daughters, it passed into the hands of Louis XV’s Grand Master of the King’s Household, who gave it a royal redesign. In 1790, the former Hôtel de Conti became Hôtel de Ville, but it wasn’t until 1897 that the building was completely rebuilt under architect Henri Legrand. A grand Neo-Louis XIII–style edifice facing the Avenue de Paris, where period woodwork—the remnants of aristocratic splendor—shares space with modern architecture in this historic monument at the heart of Versailles.
