On the occasion of Heritage Days, the Embassy of Lithuania invites you to explore its spaces on Saturday, September 19, 2026. It's the perfect opportunity to discover one of Paris's finest private mansions through an artistic program!

For the 43rd edition of the Journées du Patrimoine, head to the Lithuanian Embassy, which opens its doors to us on Saturday, September 19, 2026. It's an opportunity to discover the sumptuous townhouse located near Parc Monceau, and to delve into Lithuanian culture, little known in France.

In the 19th century, this private mansion at 22 boulevard de Courcelles was the first Parisian residence of composer Ernest Chausson, his wife and their three children. During this period, the hotel was decorated by painters Maurice Denis and Odilon Redon. His study also featured a large portrait of the Chausson family, painted by his friend Eugène Carrière. The building became an embassy in 1999.

Note: the Embassy of Lithuania is only open on Saturday, September 19. Don’t miss this unique day—mark the date in your calendar! Also keep in mind that this visit is by registration only, and you have until September 18 to book your place.

What’s on the agenda for the 43rd edition of Heritage Days at the Lithuanian Embassy:

  • Mykolas Povilas Vilutis, master of Lithuanian screen printing – Exhibition and exclusive visit at the Lithuanian Embassy

On the occasion of European Heritage Days, Lithuania’s Embassy opens its doors for a special showcase devoted to Mykolas Povilas Vilutis, one of the most celebrated contemporary Lithuanian graphic artists and a master of serigraphy. This presentation offers the broadest view yet of his work showcased in France.

Designed by Aldona Vilutytė, actress and curator, daughter of the artist and a specialist in his creative universe, the exhibition traces a distinctive artistic path marked by bold graphic language, vivid colors and an imagination where humor, poetry, symbols and reflections on the human condition converge.

The exhibition highlights, in particular, the artist’s most recent creations, produced in collaboration with the Lithuanian fragrance house Smells Like Spells. For the Incantations collection, his original drawings accompany handmade porcelain objects created for artisanal scented candles. Drawing on traditional incantation practices from varied cultures, this collection reveals the richness of his symbolic world and illustrates the dialogue between graphic art, contemporary design and crafts.

    ON THE PROGRAM:

    • Guided tours of the exhibition dedicated to Mykolas Povilas Vilutis, a master of Lithuanian serigraphy.

    • Open visit to the Embassy of Lithuania in France, a historic townhouse and former residence of the composer Ernest Chausson.

    • Exploration of Lithuania through informal conversations with the Embassy team: introductions to tourist sites, culture and Lithuanian traditions.

    • Tasting of Lithuanian products for a unique culinary experience.

Participation conditions: Free, self-guided visit. Registration required via the form by September 18, 2026. An ID will be checked at the entrance to access the Embassy of Lithuania in France. - Free | Registration required - https://forms.office.com/e/DZb31QSQck
