On the occasion of the new edition of the Heritage Days in Paris, we’re opening the doors of the Saint-Laurent Church in the 10th arrondissement! Characteristic of the flamboyant Gothic style, this church on Boulevard Magenta isn’t easily overlooked.
Yet few Parisians have ever stepped through its doors. Let's take advantage of it—the Heritage Days are made for that! Moreover, the Saint-Laurent Church has put together a lovely program for this weekend of September 19 and 20, 2026.
The Choir, the Chapel of Notre-Dame des Malades, and the Keystones, or even imagery through paintings and stained glass... A journey through the centuries, from the 15th to the 21st, not to be missed! It’s also a wonderful chance to discover this striking church, built along the capital’s North–South axis on an ancient Roman road linking Senlis to Orléans. Founded at the very end of the 5th century, the church lay outside the city walls, beside a monastery.
Under the Second Empire, following the construction of the Boulevards de Magenta and de Strasbourg, the church was extended by one bay and its facade destroyed, then rebuilt in neo-Gothic style by architect Simon-Claude Constant-Dufeux between 1863 and 1867. A pediment in enamelled lava was added in 1870 by Paul Balze.
Discover the hidden treasures of the capital—that's the aim of the Journées du Patrimoine 2026. A visit to Saint-Laurent Church makes for a lovely family outing. And of course, it's free!
