The 2026 Heritage Days program at the Paris Administrative Court – Hôtel d'Aumont:

  • Guided tour of the Hôtel d'Aumont

Designed by Le Vau in the 1640s (1644-1648) for Michel-Antoine Scarron, a king’s adviser, the hôtel was soon occupied by the Duke of Aumont, who commissioned François Mansart to enlarge and reshape the main residence starting in 1656.

The inner salons were then decorated with paintings by Simon Vouet and Le Brun. Only the Le Brun Salon remains today, now serving as the reading room for the library of the Paris Administrative Court. In the 18th and 19th centuries, a succession of owners carried out numerous alterations.

In 1938, the Hôtel d'Aumont was purchased by the City of Paris and put back into service. The Administrative Court moved in in 1959.
