At the Palais de la Porte Dorée, the Aquarium tropical expects us to discover the whales, killer whales and dolphins’ incredible world. From September 28, 2019 to June 21, 2020, the “Baleinopolis. Les sociétés secrètes des cétacés” (Baleinopolis, cetaceans’ secret societies) exhibition takes us to deep oceans, meeting the biggest animals on earth.
Get your diving masks out, we’re diving in cetaceans’ world. The Aquarium Tropical offers us to be introduced to these huge creatures through items, videos, sounds and interactive devices. The exhibition focuses on four species (whales, sperm whales, killer whales and dolphins) and unveils the secrets and daily life of these mammals.
The exhibition puts us in the flippers of a whale thanks to an original staging: an island decorates the center of the room and we revolve around it – like a (big) fish – to observe the different devices and installations. The touch screens show stories told by experts about the societies of cetaceans, the way they are structured and the impact off humans on groups of sea mammals.
Children and adults, you don’t want to miss this fantastic exhibition taking us to the world of sea giants. Make the best of it: with your admission ticket, you can even visit the Aquarium tropical and say hello to other fishes, even to the smallest ones! And for those who are fascinated by small insects, the Musée en Herbe provides the “Araignées, Lucioles et Papillons” exhibition from April 2, 2020.
