Pop Icons, the open-air photo exhibition at Bercy Village

And what if characters from the Star Wars saga were to strike a pose in front of the Eiffel Tower? Artist Benoît Lapray shows us more about his surprising universe mixing two worlds, through a free photo exhibition running at Bercy Village. From May 19 to September 18, 2022, come and admire Pop Icons.

Fantasy film or science-fiction film fans certainly already wondered how would their world look like if their heroes were real. French artist Benoît Lapray gives us an outlook of this parallel universe, taking us to his uncommon works, exhibited from May 19 to September 18, 2022, in Bercy Village passages.

The Pop Icons photo exhibit stages pop culture characters in real landscapes. Stormtrooper statues in front of the Eiffel Tower, Superman enjoying the views, Iron Man walking by the water, a Shrek statue over a crossroad in a city center…

These pop culture universes have been included into our world, as if these heroes were our neighbors, as if they were celebrated like the great figures of our History.

Benoît Lapray’s works rewrite our reality in a subtle way, making these characters real, almost more reachable. Photos exhibited at Bercy Village come from the Monuments and The Quest for the Absolute series. They show characters from famous superheroes cartoons and movies, included in the Parisian landscape.

A great photo exhibition for all visitors, small or older. And a free outing to enjoy all summer long at Bercy Village. Shall we go, then?
