The Arab World Institute invites you to complete a unique journey, a virtual reality immersive experience taking you to one of the world’s seven wonders. From June 14 to October 2, 2022, come and discover “The Horizon of Khufu”.

This is an event you do not want to miss that lands in world’s premiere in Paris. An extraordinary journey lots of people have been dreaming since they were a child. Come and visit one of the world’s seven wonders, an archeological treasure, a monumental proof of the Egyptian architectural genius that is 4,500 years old.

The Arab World Institute proposes a virtual expedition to discover the Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt. From June 14 to October 2, 2022, the “Horizon of Khufu” experience promises to take us on one of the greatest immersive journeys in the world without ever leaving Paris 5th arrondissement.

The Emissive company – specialized in augmented and virtual reality experiences – worked for three years with Harvard University Egyptologist and Giza project manager Peter Der Manuelian. High-end scientific and technological knowledges to make you enjoy an experience more authentic than the original.

Equipped with virtual reality gear, walk around this 500sqm surface to discover this futureproof masterpiece, one of the oldest man-made constructions still standing.

With a connected backpack and a headset, one immediately travels to the foot of the tomb of King Khufu. For 45 minutes, Mona, the virtual guide, unveils all the secrets of this pyramid and inhabitants. This augmented reality experience allows one to discover places closed to the public, richly decorated galleries, funeral rooms… and even climb all the way to the top of the pyramid – without even breaking a sweat – to admire Cairo as it is now.

The journey ends with a jump back in time: boarding a funeral bark on the Nile to attend King Khufu’s funerals, three thousand years before our era.

This immersive experience, suiting all visitors, children and adults, is a genuine sensory journey. And uncommon, playful, instructive and extraordinary journey. An adventure you do not want to miss. Careful, this experience can cause endless fascination for Ancient Egypt and lead to eyes full of stars!
