It is here that you will see thechurch of the Annunciation, the only troglodyte church in Ile-de-France. This means that it was built right into the rock. In this case, thechurch of the Annunciation was excavated in a chalk cliff and only its bell tower is in masonry. This one gives us the impression to pierce the green hill which covers this church.

Listed as a Historic Monument since 1926, the origin of this unusual church goes back to the 17th century, no less! Four windows cut into the rock illuminate the interior where we find a barrel vaulted nave of 20 meters long by 20 wide and 8 high. Adjacent to its parish cemetery, this church dedicated to the Virgin of the Annunciation reveals a rough facade. The chalk rock in which it was built has remained as it is and offers us today this unusual and unseen landscape in the region!
