Hey friends! Bastille Day is just around the corner. But this year, because of the current health context, specific guidelines are set up to avoid big gatherings and enable social distancing. Let's discover the access restrictions as well as the metro stations closed on that day.

Each July 14 or Bastille Day, the same thing happens. The day is shaken up. From 10 a.m., the traditional military parade on the Champs-Elysées and the firework let off from the Eiffel Tower.

Yet, because of the current health context, Bastille Day 2020 will be adapted in Paris. As the city authorities say: "because of the health context and the current guidelines, especially the ban of gatherings over 5,000 people, celebrations in Paris cannot be held with crowds as it used to be. The city of Paris and the Paris police prefect have decided to adapt the event to the exceptional circumstances with special organizing modalities, calling in for responsabilities and civic sense of Parisians".

This year, Paris concert will take place without crowds. As for the July 14's firework, Parisians will not be able to gather around the Eiffel tower to attend it - as they used to do.

As implemented by a police decree, a wide exclusion area will be set up around the site to make sure the firework is safe and to prevent any gathering of people. "This area will be watched by Paris officers" the authorities say.

Access restrictions will be implemented from 11 a.m. on the Champ-de-Mars and from 4 p.m. around the Trocadéro and on the Pont d'Iéna.

Then, from 7 p.m., a large area covering from the Pont de Grenelle bridge and all the way to the Pont de l'Alma bridge, including the Champ-de-Mars and the Trocadéro, will be strictly banned to the public. Note that only locals, and people staying at hotels and professionals on a mission will be able to go there upon documents.

This year, Parisians are invited to follow the show live on TV from 11 p.m. on France 2.
