In Yvelines, Château de Breteuil is open again since Wednesday May 19, 2021. The magical castle – like many other cultural venues – has been allowed to resume with the second phase of the lockdown exit scheme.
Set in Choisel, in Yvelines, this castle is famous for staging Perrault’s tales. Family-friendly outing place, the Château de Breteuil intends to take small and grown-up visitors to its marvelous universe.
But how has magic been able to fit the health guidelines? The Castle announced they make hand-sanitizer available, and recommends facemask-wearing particularly indoors. Furthermore, each and everyone is asked to comply with health guidelines, including keeping one meter apart from other visitors.
In the park – open from 10 a.m. – go and discover the verdant gardens, and Perrault’s tales scenes excluding Hop-o’-My-Thumb and the playground. Picnics are still allowed if one family per table. The crepe stand provides takeout on Sundays and Ascension Thursday and Pentecost Monday. Visitors only opting for the tour of the park cannot access the castle’s former kitchen, not the Sleeping Beauty scene.
The castle renews its program and provides in 2021 new entertainments. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, enjoy 90-minute escape games in the rooms on the second floor of the castle, that never opened to the public before! On July 4, 6, 11 and 13, 2021, a new investigation awaits: a murder party is held in Breteuil, at Marie-Antoinette’s time.
Artistic fencing, drama group, nighttime tour… The Château de Breteuil has many occasions for us to return to Perrault’s tales’ universe.
