How about playing in the water? Within walking distance from La Défense, stands the verdant 25-hectare Parc André Malraux in Nanterre. Go and discover the free 1,200 sqm waterpark expecting children and adults on hot summer days.

How about playing in the water for a bit? We have to say this summer is very hot. And if you are looking for a spot to entertain kids and cool off, here is a free idea likely to please the entire family.

Head north to the lake to discover the famous waterpark (right across the RER “Nanterre Préfecture” train station, at the foot of the five columns of the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle) to discover the free waterpark open to all.

The place is divided into 3 different areas depending on age groups, delimited by drawings of the mosaic covering the waterpark and 10 jet categories.

  • Zone bambins defined by a sun for toddlers between 0 and 5 years of age, providing soft and non-stop water features
  • Zone pieuvre defined by a squid for kids between 5 and 12 years of age, providing varied and entertaining water features
  • Zone bleue open to all ages, providing playful water features

To go there, you must wear a bathing suit. Please comply with two compulsory ways in fitted with a footbath and a water arch doubling up as a shower.

This water playground is open daily, from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., depending on the weather. In the event of rain (or rainfalls forecasted by Météo France) and temperatures below 21°C (69.8°F), games are closed. Children are under the responsibility of adults accompanying them in the water features.

Note this waterpark goes under daily control of water quality including surveillance and control by the ARS IDF aka the Ile de France Regional Health Agency.
