The lights are usually switched on in the presence of one or more celebrities acting as sponsors, as well as the mayors of Paris and the 8th arrondissement. We have been able to attend this launch in the company of Karl Lagerfeld, Lili-Rose Depp, and Gilles Lellouche. After an enthusiastic countdown, they press a button together and immediately the most beautiful avenue in the world is dressed in its lights.

Last year, the kick-off was given by Tony Estanguet, president of Paris 2024. This year, the format of the Illuminations launch is set to take on a new dimension, with the kick-off scheduled for November 16, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. on the avenue, which will be pedestrianized for the occasion. The festivities will include a sound and light show and new light installations on the most beautiful avenue in the world!

And so, Parisians and tourists alike will discover the lights that will illuminate the Champs-Elysées this winter. These lights will remain in place until January 4, 2026, and will be on throughout the evening until midnight, except on the evenings of December 24 and 31, when the Champs-Elysées will shine all night long.

The lights were recently installed by Blachère Illuminations, a company committed to environmental responsibility, with lighting fixtures that can be used for three to five seasons. A total of 400 trees will be covered with garlands.
