To celebrate the arrival of the new year 2026, theCity of Paris is once again inviting Parisians and tourists alike to gather on the Champs-Élysées, which will be closed to traffic for the occasion.
An unmissable Parisian avenue known throughout the world, the Champs-Élysées welcomes hundreds of thousands of people every December 31, eager to experience a festive and unique New Year's Eve. To delight young and old alike, who gather on the Champs-Élysées for the occasion, the City of Paris has been offering a video mapping show since 2014, followed by fireworks that light up the legendary Arc de Triomphe monument. To allow as many people as possible to enjoy this beautiful spectacle, the event is broadcast live on France 2.
So, what can we expect for New Year's Eve 2026 in Paris? On December 31, 2025, the general public is once again expected to gather on the Champs-Élysées to celebrate the arrival of the new year in style. As in previous years, the festivities will begin with avideo mapping show projected ontothe Arc de Triompheataround 11:50 p.m. (time to be confirmed). The show will pay tribute to the City of Light. This audio-visual spectacle will be followed by the traditional countdownand the famous fireworks display that will once again light up the Arc de Triomphe and the Parisian night sky.
Remember, last year, spectators were also treated to early evening concerts by several artists, including David Hallyday, Chimène Badi, Stars 80, Collectif Métissé, Lio, and Cerrone. Performances by dancers from the Moulin Rouge and the Paradis Latin also set the tone for the evening.
