The Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris is devoting an unprecedented exhibition to Henri Matisse (1869-1954), a major figure in twentieth-century art. Through more than 110 works - paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures and ceramics - this retrospective explores the artist's intimate and sensitive view of his eldest daughter, Marguerite Duthuit-Matisse (1894-1982), an essential but discreet presence in his personal and artistic universe.
