Paris Catacombs reopened on April 8, 2026, after six months of work. But what has changed? The headline upgrade: the lighting, dating from 1980, has been completely overhauled for better visibility and to highlight details that once stayed hidden in the shadows. There have also been numerous modernization efforts to the facilities, notably at the welcome area and in the ventilation, which were not suited to such a surge of visitors. A heads-up: the route and the scenography remain unchanged, and there is still no access for people with reduced mobility.
