Paris: paid parking for scooters and motorbikes starting from 2022

Starting from 2022, scooter and motorbikes will now have to pay for parking in Paris. Announced a while ago, this measure has been presented this Tuesday June 15, 2021 by David Belliard - Anne Hidalgo's deputy entrusted with transport and mobility. In all, 120,000 parking spots will disappear to give "more nature and more space to pedestrians and cyclists".

In Paris, facemasks are mandatory in some areas from Monday August 10, 2020. This Friday August 14, the Police prefecture said they extended the measure to new streets and neighborhoods. The Champs-Elysées, the Louvre area and the Batignolles neighborhood are concerned. The prefect also said that “if the epidemiologic situation was to worsen again, facemasks might be mandatory in the entire capital”.

Anne Hidalgo confirmed free cloth and washable facemasks will be given to each Parisian. Interviewed by LCI this May 5, Paris mayor says that these reusable masks will be available from May 11th in pharmacies. She said that "500,000 surgical msks will be avaialble this week given by arorndissement mayors to the most fragile people". Anne Hidalgo promised earlier in April that “two million cloth facemasks” will be “given” to Parisians in order to fight against the coronavirus epidemic.
