Science Festival 2026 in Yvelines: family tours and workshops at Parc aux étoiles

Great news for the little and big scientists in you: the Science Festival is back in Paris and across Île-de-France. To mark the occasion, Parc aux étoiles in Yvelines invites you to free-entry workshops and tours on October 2, 7, and 10, 2026. Here is the event program.

It's an annual event that science enthusiasts and hobbyists would not miss for the world. The Fête de la Science marks its 35th edition from October 2 to October 12, 2026. As every year since 1991, the Fête de la Science is an opportunity to raise public awareness of science, foster knowledge-sharing between researchers and citizens, and highlight the work of the scientific community. How does it do that? By offering a series of free events (tours, workshops, showcases...) in schools and universities, in museums, and at many other venues.

Science Festival 2026: events at universities and schools in Paris and the Île-de-France region

In Paris and the Île-de-France region, many events are announced for this autumn. This is especially true in the Yvelines. Thus, the coordination of the Fête de la Science for the department 78 was entrusted in 2019 to the Parc Aux Étoiles, the CCSTI of Yvelines. This year, Parc Aux Étoiles continues to lead the departmental coordination and invites you to October 2026 to dive into the scientific world in all its facets.

Located on the Hautil hill in Triel-sur-Seine, the Parc aux Etoiles is the second-highest site in Île-de-France, which makes stargazing easier. Notably, it houses France’s largest astronomical telescope (225 mm), which is also open to the public for observations.

The Science Festival program at Star Park:

An Evening of Stargazing

You’ll be able to spot the October night sky, hear the legends attached to the constellations, and even explore the Universe with our astronomy tools!
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
For ages 8 and up.
If the sky is cloudy, a substitute activity will be offered. The program includes: a 45-minute guided tour of our museum, exploring the flavors of the Universe.
Because space is limited, please book a seat only if you’re sure you’ll attend, or let Parc aux étoiles know if you need to cancel.
All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

James Webb Space Telescope: An Extraordinary Journey
Come and discover the secrets of the James Webb Space Telescope, from the project's inception to its latest results, including its design and its launch into orbit!
In this talk, you'll learn how this telescope works, and how it invites us to rethink what we know about the Universe.

Indulgence — or why everything that tastes good is bad?

Leon Lenclos, writer and performer, is rolling out a cycle of conference-shows—illustrated, playful and packed with humor: pocket talks to “learn all about nothing.” …
As part of the Science Festival and its theme this year, centered on Savory Knowledge, he invites us to tackle the question of gluttony. He’ll remind us that indulgence isn’t limited to eating; he’ll wonder why the tastier something is, the worse it feels (or is it the other way around?); reveal the real reason coffee is bad for health; critique Maslow’s pyramid… but certainly not the audience’s appetite; he’ll even drop a nod to the Ogre or the Big Bad Wolf…
In short, food for thought to be enjoyed: bon appétit!
