Les Ulis celebrate Bastille Day with spectacular, family-friendly festivities to be enjoyed this Monday, July 13, 2026. Due to the very high risk of wildfires and current weather conditions, the Essonne prefecture has banned fireworks displays across the entire department.

Following a prefectural order issued by the Essonne Prefecture, all fireworks displays are canceled across the entire region due to an extremely high wildfire risk and the current weather conditions. The fireworks show and the torchlight procession will be called off, while the rest of the program remains unchanged: the dance, activities, and on-site catering will proceed as planned!

The 14 July marks the day when the French people stormed the Bastille prison, symbol of the oppression of the Ancien Régime, on July 14, 1789. A year later, the Festival of the Federation was already being celebrated in homage to that pivotal day: since then, the date has become the National Holiday, a public holiday when the streets are dressed in blue, white and red, the colors of the French flag.

Thus, every year, a host of events mark this historic date for the nation: fireworks, firefighters’ balls, activities, free concerts... In the department of the Essonne, a pleasant lineup is already in store for this Monday, July 13, 2026, whether you’re celebrating with family, friends, or children!
