A quirky Christmas is in the works at Bon Marché Rive Gauche! For the year-end holidays 2026, the Paris department store channels a mountain village, with snow-dusted chalets and a few inhabitants who are, to put it mildly, unexpected… But what do the animated window displays have in store for us? Don’t miss the opening in early November.

In Paris, when the department stores roll out their dazzle, you know the Christmas window displays season is officially underway! This year, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche invites us to breathe in a brisk mountain-air vibe, heading to its Village de Noël 2026, open from October 24 to December 31 at 24 rue de Sèvres, in the 7th arrondissement. Wooden chalets, snow-dusted rooftops, twinkling garlands and village lanes: the grand Parisian department store adopts a mountain-resort mood, with a festive stash of gift ideas to boot!

But the showstopper for passersby arrives from Friday, November 6, 2026, in the late afternoon, when the animated window displays of Le Bon Marché will reveal their new inhabitants. This time, a band of plush pigs and sheep, some reaching up to a meter tall! These quirky villagers take up residence in four windows transformed into mini theatres, each with its own share of antics.

On the menu for this merry village life: a ballet at "La salle de Pestacle", a tough gym session at "La menuiserie des biscotos", some games at "La cache'hotterie" and a few sharply struck notes at "L'école Ding Ding". All of it accompanied by a soundtrack specially composed for the occasion. As every year, stages will let the youngest get a higher view to make sure they don’t miss a thing of the adventures of these furry, woolly inhabitants.

As you step inside, at the corner of Sèvres and Velpeau streets, a wooden structure crowned with snow-dusted chalets and lit by twinkling lights sets the tone. Inside, l'escalator central also dresses itself in façades montagnardes, with a gallery of imaginary portraits hidden behind the chalets. The wooden furniture from last year's edition has, by the way, been reused and repainted to bring this new setting to life.

The stroll continues from the inn to the garden and the village hall, guided by the signposts that steer visitors along the alleys. Small cottages brimming with gifts, snow-dusted cobblestones, garlands and hanging snowflakes compose a winter postcard tableau. You could almost hear the après-ski calling! On the shopping front, the chalets gather decor items, accessories, exclusive pieces and customizable gifts to fill the sack without losing your bearings.

And for those who can’t wait to deck the tree, head to the second floor! From October 31 to December 24, 2026, the Village Garden unveils four decorative worlds: the Four Seasons tree with nature-inspired ornaments, the Bright Crimson in tonal harmony, the traditional Christmas Village, and the Vintage tree adorned with retro baubles. Not to mention hand-blown glass decorations, mouth-painted by hand, along with a collection inspired by Parisian monuments—from Notre-Dame to the Arc de Triomphe. A chalet even lets you personalize large Christmas stockings with letters, patches, and charms.

Fancy a breath of Alpine air? No ski pass needed: Le Bon Marché's window displays are waiting for you on rue de Sèvres!
