Halloween in Paris is one thing. But let's do it Mexican style! Once again this year, the Fête de la Mode returns for a 3rd edition at the Cultural Institute of Mexico. This fashion and artistic event takes place during the Feast of the Dead, or Dia de Muertos in Latin American countries: a great celebration of the deceased that allows us to honor the memory of those who have left us, in a joyful and popular atmosphere.
To mark the occasion, the cultural institute is offering a variety of festive events during the last days of October. And if there's one event not to be missed, it's the Fête de la Mode!
On October 30, 2025, the Mexican Institute is bringing us together for a special event, bringing together art, French and Mexican culture, mysticism and tradition. Don't miss the Catrinas fashion show, organized by Clutch Magazine.
Catrina is a mythical figure of Mexican folklore: a skeleton of a woman, dressed in rich clothes and accessories, whose skull has been decorated. La Catrina is said to have originated in the early 20th century, but is inspired by even older legends. Originally, this character was a caricature of the bourgeois class and good society. The image of this richly-dressed skeleton woman was soon taken up and turned into a symbol of the Day of the Dead. In Mexico, the Catrina parade is an unmissable tradition in which many Mexicans take part.
To honor this tradition, the Cultural Institute of Mexico and Clutch Magazine are organizing a Catrinas fashion show in Paris, featuring contemporary creations and more traditional silhouettes, highlighting the creativity, art and culture of Mexico and its artists.
Please note that the number of places available to attend the parade is limited, so book early! We wish you a wonderful Dia de Muertos at the Cultural Institute of Mexico!
