In Montmartre, Heritage Days are the occasion to rediscover one of the Butte’s most emblematic museums, on September 19 and 20, 2026. The Musée de Montmartre is lining up a special weekend program focused on its history, its collections, and its unique setting.

Every year, the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) are a much-anticipated cultural event throughout Europe. This flagship event of the autumn season gives us a rare opportunity to visit the finest treasures of our heritage, often in an unprecedented way. Every year, museums, monuments and castles join in the fun with a program packed with free good deals and unusual events.

Each edition also invites us to push open the doors of venues usually closed to the public! As you may have guessed, missing this would be out of the question. So mark your calendars for the weekend of September 19–20, 2026 to enjoy the upcoming Heritage Days in Paris and Île-de-France.

Are you looking for a cultural bargain in the heart of Montmartre? This picturesque village-district is a real favorite with Parisians both young and old, with its distinctive atmosphere and numerous curiosities. And what better way to soak up the Montmartre vibe than at the Musée de Montmartre and its Renoir gardens? It's a good thing that this spot, which immerses us in the history of this historic district, is unveiling its program for the Journées du Patrimoine in Paris.

The 2026 Heritage Days program at the Montmartre Museum in Paris:

  • Guided tour of the museum's permanent collections

Looking for a pleasant cultural moment and a chance to feel Montmartre's artistic buzz during a visit?

On the occasion of European Heritage Days, join a guided tour of the Montmartre Museum's permanent collections. The tour will be led by Jean-Manuel Gabert, president of the Vieux Montmartre Association.

Collections tour: free, by reservation through the museum's online ticketing (opens in early September)

Participation terms: Limited to 25 participants — Registration will open at a later date — Free | Reservations required - https://museedemontmartre.tickeasy.com/fr-FR/accueil

    Schedule: Sunday, September 20, 2026 — 10:30 to 11:30

  • Conference "Montmartre Through the Days"

“The painters set up their easels on the heights, the chorus girls lifted their legs at the barrier dances, chansonniers urged the goualante at the café-concert, and the fairground strongmen hoisted weights along the boulevard. Montmartre’s golden age was dawning!”

On the occasion of European Heritage Days, embark on a stroll through the seasons of Montmartre. Inspired by the illustrated album 365 days in Montmartre, published for the 140th anniversary of the historical society Le Vieux Montmartre, this presentation invites you to discover, from January to December, the places and iconic figures of the Hill.

Through a selection of pages from this almanac, Christophe Arnaud, the book’s designer, will offer a lively, guided reading of this Montmartre calendar, rich in anecdotes, illustrations and memories.

Conference: free, reservations required via the museum’s online ticketing (opening early September)
